New Day
Today begins what I hope is a day of changes. Over the past year, change has occurred in waves. I worked under a grassroots program for the Obama campaign to elect the first black candidate in U.S. history, but more importantly put the best leader for our country in office. I have seen friends married, a nephew born and growing, and more than a few friends pass away. Change has always been important in times of struggle, and one in my life has never been more necessary than now. I hope this blog can provide positive glimpses of change in my life and those that are close to me, which in turn, might provide hope to those that need similar moves in their lives. The blog will also provide light on social injustices and the changes that need to be made to correct them (the Jena Six comes to mind as a recent success story that I fought for during graduate school). Finally, I must admit I am an avid sports fan who follows Washington DC sports religiously, but is able to admit that they could probably use some change for the positive as well. Subsequently, a few posts may stray into the sports world. I hope that sums up the blog, look forward to writing in the future.

Cheers to a new day.
